About Darling Downs Horse Transport
Established eight years ago by Darren Jessup, Darling Downs Horse Transport is an owner-operated, family business, based in Toowoomba, Queensland.
Darren has been involved in horses in one way or another for much of his life, in particular spending the last 11 years in the horse transport industry.
He began working with Peter Johnson Horse Transport in Scone and got his individual start in the industry with the help and support of John Rice,
former director of VIC State and Southern Cross Horse Transport (now under new management).
Darren also gives very special thanks to the late Ron Neilson and his family, of Overlander Horse Transport, for providing him with his main entry into the industry,encouragement and a strong client base.
In Darren's spare time, he likes to indulge his passion for breeding and riding cutting horses. He shares this interest with his daughter and both are enjoying success and showing promise for further achievements in this field.
As a truck driver, Darren is capable, safe and responsible with years of experience. The Mack is meticulously maintained.
As a horseman, Darren is calm and professional. He shows boundless patience and believes in teaching his equine clients to be good travellers not just for him but in future journeys as well.
Darling Downs Horse Transport's relief staff are experienced horse-handlers with a calm and confident approach. More than truck drivers, the staff are involved in horses in their own everyday lives and take that extra care in monitoring the health and well-being of the horses in their care.
